Yesterday one of our gym members asked me, “How do you have so much energy?

What a great question. In today’s blog post I am going to give you 10 “bright” ideas (get it…. BRIGHT ideas??!!) to create more energy in your life. Do as many of these as you can and you will see your energy literally SKYROCKET.

So what will happen when you have more energy?

Wow. Where do I begin? Increased energy means increased EVERYTHING. You will be more productive at work. Who doesn’t want to maybe make more money and get more done? You will be a better parent and spouse. Do you think your loved ones will be more happy if you clean the dishes and take out the trash? YES! You will be able to give more of yourself for the things that you care about like your church or your Tuesday night soccer league.

Another year has passed, another chapter of my life has been written…another page turned.

Today I am 43 and as the days go by and life gets more complex I am learning to enjoy and cherish the simplicity of my life and the freedom that I have. I am truly blessed beyond measure to be in this skin as the we make this trip around the sun.

Compare and Despair

Are you comparing yourself to others in a way that empowers you or do you compare and despair?

I think that you should compare yourself and hold yourself to a higher standard.

Sometimes it’s even appropriate to compare yourself to others. You always have to be careful what you are looking at. If you compare at the wrong point then you despair as you get frustrated at the distance you have you travel.

In 1987 I was a freshman in high school. That year I decided to try out for the sport of cross country. I knew little about running but I knew that I wanted to be successful.

That first year I tried my hardest but we came up well short of the ultimate goal which was to win the state championship. We didn’t even qualify to compete with the best.

In 1988 I had a year of running under my belt with a more clear vision of the goal. Our team knew what we needed to do and we executed. In the end we settled for 10th place. It was a year of getting stronger and learning. Our time was coming. We were getting closer…
