Rick Copley is a gym owner, an online fitness coach and 30 year veteran of the fitness industry. He helps people to lose weight, get fit, live with vitality and enjoy the process.
As an high school athlete is the 1980’s and early 1990’s, Rick was a state champion individual in the mile run, team state champion in Cross Country (2x) and school record holder in the mile. As a schoolboy he was Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic and multi-time Cape Cod Times All Star.
Rick attended the University of Massachusetts where he earned a degree in Sport Management in 1995. He was a stand out runner for the cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams. He was 5 time Eastern Conference Champion in track. He was twice 7th place in the New England Championships steeplechase and was one the 4 X 800 meter relay team that earned 3rd place in 1994.
In 1996 Rick enrolled in the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, physical education post graduate program. He received his Masters degree with an emphasis in coaching 1998. While at UNC Rick was the head distance coach for the men’s and woman’s track team and the assistance coach in charge or workout programming for the women’s cross country team. As a coach at Division II UNC Rick coached 4 All-Americans, one National Champion (Wayne Patton, 800 meters 1997) and let the 1998 women’s cross country team to their first ever birth at the NCAAA Division II Nationals.
After his stint at UNC Rick moved back east to his home state of Massachusetts. There he was the assistant to his high school Alma mater Dennis-Yarmouth boys cross country team and assistant track coach at UMass, Boston.
In 1998 he got his first job at a health club. Rick worked for 2 years at the Plymouth Athletic Club and a fitness coach and personal trainer. In 2000 Rick started a family and moved from Massachusetts to New Hampshire.
A job as a personal trainer and fitness coach at the Cranmore Sports Center wasn’t enough. In 2002 Rick opened his own personal training studio: Rick Copley’s Ultimate Fitness.
Rick found a lot of success as business owner and began to learn a lot about writing and about all aspects of coaching and personal training.
From 2001 to 2005 Rick was also an assistant track coach at Kennet High School in Conway, New Hampshire. His focus was on the jumping and throwing events.
In 2005 Rick and his family moved from New Hampshire to Grand Island, Florida.
Rick worked as a personal trainer and wellness staff member at the Golden Triangle YMCA from 2007-2008 and the Wellness Director from 2008-2010. Just as in New Hampshire he felt a bigger calling and left the health club industry to go out on his own.
From 2010-2014 Rick ran a boot camp / workout / online coaching business called Your Best Fitness Coach.
In 2011, after a brief courtship, (When it’s right you just know it!) Rick married Teresa and began to coach and train people together. In late 2011 they because Independent Distributors for AdvoCare and began integrating supplement programs into their coaching with great success. In 2013 they rose the leadership level of “Gold 3 Star” and earned the distinction on being on the National Leadership Team.
By 2014 Rick and Teresa had outgrown the gymnasium where they were holding their boot camp style classes. In October of 2014 they partnered with Gidget and Chris Blunt and opened No Limits Fitness in Tavares, Florida.
In 2010 Rick also started his online fitness coach business. All along he has been blogging and creating free content to inspire and motivate people that aren’t able to make it to the gym. This has evolved in the “The Fit Life Blog” and “The Fit Life Podcast“.
Currently Rick and Teresa are living a dream life helping others to succeed. They couldn’t be happier.
Teresa has two boys Justin (Born 2001) and Dallas (Born 2005) and Rick has one boy Colby (Born 1999). They continue to reside in Grand Island, Florida.
