About Me

Rick and Teresa Copley

I am a gym owner, entrepreneur, coach and 30 year veteran of the fitness industry. I motivate, educate and inspire people to lose weight, get fit, live with vitality and enjoy the process.

As an high school athlete is the 1980’s and early 1990’s, I was a state champion individual in the mile run, team state champion in Cross Country (2x) and school record holder in the mile. As a schoolboy I was Boston Globe and Boston Herald All-Scholastic and multi-time Cape Cod Times All Star.

I attended the University of Massachusetts and earned a degree in Sport Management in 1995 and was a stand out runner for the cross country, indoor and outdoor track teams. I was 5 time Eastern Conference Champion in track and was twice 7th place in the New England Championships steeplechase and was on the 4 X 800 meter relay team that earned 3rd place in 1994.

In 1996 I enrolled in the University of Northern Colorado, Greeley, physical education post graduate program where I received a Masters degree with an emphasis in coaching 1998. While at UNC I was the head distance coach for the men’s and women’s track team and the assistance coach in charge of workout programming for the women’s cross country team. As a coach at Division II UNC I was honored to have coached 4 All-Americans, one National Champion (Wayne Patton, 800 meters 1997) and led the 1998 women’s cross country team to their first ever birth at the NCAA Division II Nationals.

After my stint at UNC I moved back east to my home state of Massachusetts. For one year I was the assistant to my high school Alma mater Dennis-Yarmouth boys cross country team and assistant track coach at UMass, Boston.

In 1998 I got his first job at a health club. I worked for 2 years at the Plymouth Athletic Club and a fitness coach and personal trainer. In 2000 I started a family and moved from Massachusetts to New Hampshire.

A job as a personal trainer and fitness coach at the Cranmore Sports Center wasn’t enough. In 2002 I opened  his own personal training studio: Rick Copley’s Ultimate Fitness.

I found a lot of success as business owner and began to learn a lot about writing and about all aspects of coaching and personal training.

From 2001 to 2005 I was also an assistant track coach at Kennett High School in Conway, New Hampshire where my focus was on the jumping and throwing events.

In 2005 I and his family moved from New Hampshire to Grand Island, Florida.

I worked as a personal trainer and wellness staff member at the Golden Triangle YMCA from 2007-2008 and the Wellness Director from 2008-2010. Just as in New Hampshire I felt a bigger calling and left the health club industry to go out on my own.

From 2010-2014 I ran a boot camp / workout / online coaching business called Your Best Fitness Coach.

In 2011, after a brief courtship, (When it’s right you just know it!) I married the love of my life Teresa and we began to coach and train people together. In late 2011 we because Independent Distributors for AdvoCare and began integrating supplement programs into our coaching programs with great success. In 2013 we were privileged to rise the leadership level of “Gold 3 Star” and earned the distinction on being on the National Leadership Team.

By 2014 we had outgrown the gymnasium where they were holding our boot camp style classes. In October of 2014 we partnered with Gidget and Chris Blunt and opened No Limits Fitness in Tavares, Florida.
